Mum's turn this week...
This photo was labeled "Me as a baby" (hee, hee—so cute)
Here she is on her tricycle...barely able to reach the pedals.
This is "Trixie, My Chickie".
And here's mum with Trixie. I'm not sure if she's crying, or just hiding her face. She never was a fan of having her picture taken, so maybe it's the latter.
I've been asked about my process for restoring, which I'll try and get a step-by-step written up for. Of course, each photo will have it's own challenges, and may need tweaks or additional steps. There's a great website, RetouchPro, that has lots of tutorials and tips for retouching and restoring photographs. But, I was also thinking that maybe some people don't have a scanner or the software, or the time and energy, to archive their photos. So, I'm wondering if this might be a business opportunity for me. Let me know if you think this is something you might be interested in.
I did have another thought for today's post title...Frigid Friday.
Wind chills down to -25˚F. Brrrr!

9 thoughtful people had to say...:
whoa...you do live in cold country don´t you!!! Looks about like here today too....we went out in this stuff yesterday and today for the "sake of art"....snowy scenes....freezing fingers, painting as fast as we could:)...our water kept freezing in our pots too. We came back here and finished it....I think you will like it. It looks just like where you live probably. This is cool what you do with your old fotos too.
You're doing a fabulous job with your photos. I have a picture of my mom on a tricycle just like that. I also have one of her on a pony, another popular pose in those days. Precious keepsakes.
Great job on the photos. It is amazing how much your folks as kids looked like themselves in later years. The picture of Doris in the carriage is exactly as I always knew here. Also the picture of Roy with his father is 100% as I saw him as an adult. I may impose on you someday to perk up a couple of my old family pictures.

Christine, those photos are fantastic. I think I see a business venture! You do such a good job and I am not in the mood to do anything technical right now!
Being in the Southwest really has some advantages. I love my friends in MN but don't miss the weather at all. We are now in Mesa with Jud's parents and go back to Stanford next week. It has been a nice break!
Hugs,

Hi Christine
Love the pictures... I think there would be a good opportunity there.
I think the whole world is in a deep freeze... I am packed and headed for AZ anything has got to be better than this cold!

Wow what transformations on these photos. What a Blessing that you can make them look like this. I really like your blog!
What great photos and a great job you did on them. I'm not going to complain about the temperature here now that I've read your post! Come on, Spring!
You did a fantastic job restoring those photos. -5, can't imagine!
I'd love a tutorial.
It is in the 70's here and DH mowed the lawn today in preparation for irrigation. Guess this makes up for the 115 in the summer.
Stay warm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love to look at your family photos! Love the trike....my mom gave me one just like it!
