I'm in the Mood

for Halloween...

So, I think it's time to get ready to Trick or Treat...
Care to come along...
  1. You will be sending two treats and one trick to be swapped out. At least two of the items need to be handmade. The third item can be store-bought, or you can make all three items. It's your choice as to what you make/buy for tricks and treats. Please do not send any food items. There's no way to know what food allergies your recipient may have.
  2. We will actually be Trick ’r Treating in Bloglandia, so everyone who joins must have a blog, a Flickr/Photobucket account, or a way to display photos on the web, in order to play.
  3. Please mark which items are treats, and which are tricks. And since on Halloween you never know what you're going to get or whom from, don't put your name, email or blog on any of the items or their wrappings. That will be half of the fun when we go Trick 'r Treating.
  4. All tricks and treats need to be to me by October 8th. Any packages received after that date will be returned to their owner. The timeline really needs to be adhered to in order for everything to go as planned.
  5. Be sure to pack your items well, and remember that I will be reusing these boxes for return shipping. Also include $8.00 for return postage. Even though it may not cost that much to mail to me, when I mix all of the packages up, your return package may be larger and/or heavier. International spirits are welcome to play too. We'll figure out what international postage will cost for you, and you can send that amount through PayPal.
  6. I will take sign-ups through October 1 (flwave at hotmail dot com), as long as you can get your items to me by October 8.
  7. When all of the packages are received, I will go through and randomly swap out two treats and one trick for each participant.
  8. Your return packages will be sent to you by October 12.
  9. Everyone should receive their packages with time to photograph your trick and treats.
  10. By October 30, please post pictures of your Trick and Treats. Post what you made, as well as what you received. Try and plan ahead to get your post ready. You can always upload early and schedule it to post on the 30th.
  11. On October 31, we'll make the rounds Trick ’r Treating looking for our goodies. I will have the links to everyone participating posted on my blog, so start Trick ’r Treating there.
IDEAS: Have fun...be creative...
Treats - altered journals/notebooks, banner/garlands, photo albums, ornaments, candles, apron/kitchen towels in Halloween print, pendants/bracelets/earrings, party decor, felt/yarn pumpkins, glittery decor
Tricks - specimen jars, spell books, gag gifts (fake bugs/eyeballs/vampire teeth), masks, creepy portraitures, altered urn, casket basket, drink recipes w/ spooktini glasses, favorite scary movie, stuff from Martha's Bad Things

I think I have most of the details covered, but let me know if you have any questions. Feel free to post the swap badge on your blog, and be sure to let anyone you think would be interested about the swap. Should be a spooktacular time!

Or maybe some of these other fun swaps interest you...I know they did me.
Artsy Mama's annual Sweet & Sinister swap and Halloween project blog (sign-ups through Sept 1 or 100 participants)

Val's (Yarnigras) very clever Edger Allan Poe Altered Art Swap (sign-ups through Aug 28)
Hope to see ya in the neighborhood.

All sounds like lots of spooooktacular fun you have planned out....can´t take part as I will be in the thick of work and classes at that time of year but after Xmas I will keep a keen eye out for anything you might plan after the new year starts.....
